What Is Text Twist?
Text Twist is one of the most popular browser-based word games ever made, originally developed by GameHouse. The game presents you with 6 scrambled letters and challenges you to form as many valid words as possible within a time limit. The catch: you must find the 6-letter word to unlock the next round — shorter words alone won't advance you.
Text Twist 2 expanded the game with 7-letter puzzles, daily challenges, and new game modes. Super Text Twist added multiplayer. All versions share the same core mechanic: rearrange scrambled letters into valid dictionary words before the clock runs out.
How to Use This Solver
- Open the Word Unscrambler by clicking the button above.
- Type your 6 letters exactly as shown in your Text Twist puzzle (order doesn't matter).
- Press Search. Results appear in under a second.
- Scan the 6-letter words first — these are your round-advancing answers.
- Collect shorter words (3, 4, and 5-letter) for bonus points and to fill your word grid.
For Text Twist 2's 7-letter mode, just enter all 7 letters the same way. The solver handles any letter count.
Text Twist Strategy Tips
Find the 6-Letter Word First
You cannot advance without the 6-letter answer. Prioritize it. If you're stuck, use the solver to find it immediately so you don't time out.
Try Common Suffixes
Many 6-letter answers end in -ING, -TION, -ED, -LY, or -ER. If your letters include these endings, build backward from them.
Look for Prefixes
Letters that spell UN-, RE-, OUT-, or OVER- often reveal the puzzle word. If you have U, N, and common letters, try building UN- words.
Use the Twist Button Wisely
The Twist button reshuffles your letters randomly. Use it when you're stuck — a new arrangement often triggers pattern recognition.
Know Your Short Words
Short words (3–4 letters) are quick points. Memorize common Text Twist stalwarts: the, sea, set, let, eat, tea, ate, net, ten, ace, ice, ode.
Build From Found Words
If you found "TRAIL", try adding a letter to make "TRIALS". Extending known words is a fast way to discover longer answers.
Common 6-Letter Text Twist Patterns
Certain letter combinations appear frequently in Text Twist puzzles because they form many valid words. Recognizing these patterns saves time:
